Why do weekly charts show different 'latest' dates to the daily charts?
Example:
The latest date shown in a daily chart is 18-Aug-00 whereas the weekly chart shows 14-Aug-00.

Answer:
The bars represented in the weekly chart are designated by the date which the week commences.

In the above example the 14th is a Monday and the 18th is a Friday. When data for the 21st (Monday) is available a new weekly bar will start to be drawn with the date 21-Aug-00.

Likewise Monthly charts will display the bars with the bar designated by the first traded day in the month.

Notes:
TESS creates the weekly and monthly charts from the daily data. To check the data in a weekly chart is up to date, compare the close price with the daily chart. The figures should be the same.
