clicking the icon, it keeps running the installation rather
than the software itself.

Make sure you are clicking on the program icon rather than
the installation icon
The
RTTESS program icon is labeled RTTESSv1
The
Installation icons usually one of two types
rttess-v1172.exe or similar
rttess-v1172-upd.exe

The program icon may have become linked to the Installation
file rather than the program itself.
To start the software from the programs list in Windows
:
Click 'Start'
Click 'All Programs'
Click 'RTTESS'
Click 'RTTESSv1'
