Are there any issues with the New FXCM data feed ?

Yes - but not many that we've noticed so far.

To avoid any of the issues below please continue to use the Tullet or Barclays feed in the mean time. Tullet is due to cease on 31st December 2008 but Barclays will continue.

1. Run Time Error 6

This has been corrected in v1.1.49
Click Here to download the latest version of RTTESS

We had a few reports of a 'Run Time Error 6'.

It may occur when a chart has been open for some time (hours).
This has become apparent since the new FXCM feed was introduced but is not directly related to the new feed.

Solution : Install RTTESS v1.1.49 or later from the link above
If you receive this error and are already using v1.1.49 please contact support.

2. Occurrence of 'Double Bars'

This has been corrected in v1.1.50
Click Here to download the latest version of RTTESS

We had a few reports of 'double' or 'repeat' bars for the same time interval appearing.
It occurs occasionally when there is high 'tick activity' at the point when a new bar is created.
This has been resolved in RTTESS v1.1.50

Solution : Install RTTESS v1.1.50 or later from the link above
If you receive this error and are already using v1.1.50 please contact support.

3. The Charts took longer to load.

This has been resolved from 22 December 2008 - ( no update required )

The Volume figures used in RTTESS were calculated from the Tick data which was a separate, and longer, download when opening charts.

IQFeed have now made tick volume figures for the FOREX markets available within the price data so the the charts now load much faster. This has been implemented since 22 December 2008 and does not require any software updates to get the new and improved data.

4. Experiencing High Processor Activity with Multi Charts.

The FXCM data feed has a much faster Update Rate. If you are used to using multi chart setups or have a computer specification in the 'lower' compatibility range then you may experience high processor activity as the new data comes in. This can make the software seem 'sticky' when using the tools etc.

RTTESS is set to update each chart every second if there is fresh data available.
This can now be slowed down to give the processor room to breath on slower machines.
It can be set to between 1 and 9 seconds.
In RTTESS Click Settings / Preferences / Other to select this option.

5. There is a discrepancy with the PIP values with currency pairs containing JPY.

This has been corrected in v1.1.50
Click Here to download the latest version of RTTESS

For the JPY - Tullet and Barclays to traded at 100ths and FXCM trades in 1000ths.

RTTESS creates the PIP values from the minimum traded value so both are correct as far as the software is concerned but this does not match the intervals traded using IGIndex and others.
We have created a filter to correct the decimal place for the PIP calculation for the above pairs.
Currently the filter provides for GBPJPY, EURJPY & USDJPY

Solution : Install RTTESS v1.1.50 or later from the link above
If you believe the PIPs are incorrect in any other pairs please report this to support.
