What Computer specification is recommended for RTTESS ?

RTTESS is not a large program and most of the minimum requirement are governed by those needed for the IQfeed software. Click here for the IQfeed specification.

Operating System
TESS is only supported on a 'Windows' computer running XP or VISTA or Windows 7.
(Win95, Win98, WinME, WinNT are not supported)

Some MACs make use of a 'Windows' environment in which we believe that TESS will run however it is not tested or supported. We do have clients successfully running TESS in this way.

Windows 2000: We have clients using RTTESS successfully on this platform. The things to note here are security levels with Firewall etc. Permissions need to be set to allow RTTESS to communicate with the IQFeed software and the Internet to received data.

TESS is not designed to run on a PDA or USB Flash Drive.

Processor
Pentium Processor 2GHz
The faster the better.
RTTESS will probably run on a lot slower - it will just run slower.

Memory
500Mb Ram (1Gb recommended)

Internet Connection
High Speed connection (Broadband)
IQ feed recommends minimum 500Kps min.
Dial up can work but it can be very slow and some data can get missed, which can have an effect on the data and results.
Mobile Internet connections do also work but one needs to be aware of lower signal levels which can result in some data getting missed.

Wireless Internet connections can cause data loss issues. If data loss is experienced try using a wired connections to establish if the wireless is causing it.

Screen
The bigger the better - (Minimum resolution 1024 x 768)

Hard disk Space
RTTESS does not store historical data on the disk so there are no significant requirements for hard disk space apart from having enough to keep the computer smoothly.
